Founder of Choice Point Technique
Sudden pain and dysfunction are often an uninvited catalyst for change.
In 2001 a young Australian Dan Potter suffered an injury playing Rugby that turned into one sudden moment of change for him.
His injury caused such extreme sciatica that in the eyes of Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Acupuncturists and Remedial Therapists was untreatable. Even specialists at Queensland University sent him home with no offer of hope.
Surgery was becoming Dan’s focus when he was introduced to a unique, little known technique of ligament and tendon manipulation.
This technique was completely different to any other manipulation available. In three brief treatments, Dan was finally free of pain and determined to bring this type of new manipulation to the general public.
After studying all that was available he then moved to London UK where he was able to provide his skills to a London Rugby League club, gaining experience and developing a reputation for fast results. Dan returned to Australia in 2008 and continued to provide treatment in Queensland.
The Zap House clinic in 2011 became aware of Dan’s work and recognised the uniqueness of the technique as an ideal match for their leading edge rapid results format. With the Zap House support, Dan has continued to evolve and develop ligament and tendon manipulation into an educational package suitable for integration into clinics in Australia and overseas.
Choice Point Technique (CPT) is a uniquely devised Remedial Massage treatment consisting of the manipulation of the soft and deep tissues, ligaments, tendons and muscles. CPT aims to release soft tissue irregularities and to correct misalignment caused by high tension in tissue.
Choice Point Technique’s Cabarita Beach based clinic is proving to be a leader in pain relief treatment. The focus of our practice is fast relief from neck and back pain, frozen shoulder, sciatica, migraines and stress-related discomfort. Along with ligament and tendon manipulation, our Cabarita Beach massage therapy clinic provides qualified remedial, deep-tissue and sports massage.
No matter how long you’ve been experiencing physical discomfort from chronic pain, we can tailor a treatment plan to help manage your condition.
Choice Point Technique helps to mobilize peripheral and cutaneous nerves by using a variation of manual therapy techniques including ligament and tendon manipulation. As the nerves and their associated vascular structures run through tunnels, unloading these areas assists with the feeding of blood and oxygen to the nerve via their regional vessels.
In most cases this will give relief immediately to ailments such as:
– Ankle Sprains
– Back and Neck Pain
– Nerve Pain
– Frozen Shoulder
– Shin Splints
– Carpal Tunnel
I have had an ongoing injury for some time on my hip and surrounding pelvic muscles. This had been an ongoing issue for several months, which had been aggravated from swimming repetitive laps in the pool. I would have to sacrifice what I do in the water to other resources because I couldn’t move and position my body in the ways I needed to for my sport.
Dan made such a difference in helping free the tendons around the hip and pelvic muscles in order to gain blood flow and stimulate the healing process. This helped after two sessions, correcting the tendons in the right manner and helping me gain the ability to move the water.
In my experience, I was so relieved to be able to move without pain. I would highly recommend Dan for treatments in this regard.

Working as a model might sound like the dream job, but it has its downfalls like anything else. Spending hours on end in 6 inch heals caused my glute to seize up and become so tight that it eventually turned into one big ball of scar tissue! I tried everything to release the muscle and build some strength but because it was so tight I couldn’t even get it to switch on in a pilates class.
With no longterm results from previous treatments, I heard about Dan’s technique and thought I would give it a shot.
Dan’s ability to understand the body is very unique and powerful and despite not being able to ditch the heals due to my line of work I am no longer in constant pain and have regained my hip strength and balance!
